Application and Payment Procedures
Reservations will be accepted on a first come written application basis only. Telephone inquires are welcome. For information, call (509) 447-5611.
The rental date is not confirmed until a written rental application has been completed and approved by the City of Newport and the rental fees and deposit have been paid.
The daily reservation fee is $35.00 and the cleaning and damage deposit is $50.00. If your event is scheduled for more than two days, additional fees may apply. Make check payable to City of Newport. Be advised that the City Park is public property and nothing in this agreement precludes the public from using the park during a reservation.
A cleaning and damage deposit of $50.00 is required of all applicants reserving the City Park. The City of Newport reserves the right to assess additional costs to the applicant should the City Park and/or restrooms be damaged during the rental and if the restroom key is not returned in a timely manner.
Cancellations must be made no later than 7 days prior to the reserved date or 50% of the reservation fee will be retained.
The person signing the rental agreement must be 21 years of age and will be considered the responsible party in case of damage, theft or disturbances during the rental period.
Site Map
One copy of a detailed site map of the event must be provided to the City if
reserving more than the stage or covered shelter. This map should include the
location of vendors/exhibitor booths, portable toilets, fences, stages, and
trash/recycle containers. This map should also identify streets, sidewalks,
and proposed parking.
Vendors
No trailer vendors will be allowed on the grass area. All motorized or trailer
vendors must stay on the roadway.
No vendors or events will be set up south of the sidewalk near the playground equipment.
Set-up and Clean-up
It is the responsibility of the applicant to set-up and restore the City Park back to its original condition after the rental period. All items brought to the City Park by the renters need to be removed – including food, materials, equipment, furnishings, decorations and garbage left after use of the park facilities.
Please place all trash in cans provided. If the rental is for an event that is over several days or where excessive garbage may accumulate, special arrangements must be made for the removal of garbage from the City Park at the applicant / user’s expense. If you have a large group, you must make private arrangements for your own additional santi-cans (port-a-potties).
The possession and consumption of any alcoholic beverage is prohibited except by special permission and issuance of a liquor license by authorized agencies. All State and local laws, rules and regulations must be followed or the rental / event can be terminated. Any events requiring a banquet license or liquor license must fill out and complete the Special Event Permit Application.
The park is open for reservations April 1st to October 31st. The hours that events may be held are Sunday – Thursday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and Friday & Saturday from Dawn to Dusk. Park reservations are closed from November 1st to March 31st. Please keep in mind that all clean up must be completed by the end of the final day of the event unless otherwise approved by City Administration.
If there will be music entertainment performed in the park, we ask that you be considerate to the citizens that live around the park and keep the volume to a minimum.
Please leave the Newport City Park in the same condition as you found it!
